A new initiative is using all-female fight nights to fund free boxing classes for women who have experienced domestic abuse. The Fight Forward programme, founded by former Team GB boxer Lesley Sackey, offers free classes to survivors of domestic abuse, helping them rebuild their confidence and self-worth. The programme has already seen positive results, with participants reporting improved mental health and self-esteem. The new series of fight nights, staged by Fight Back Promotions, aims to fund more free classes and provide a platform for women to compete in a consensual and controlled environment. The event will also raise awareness about the impact of domestic abuse and promote the benefits of boxing as a tool for empowerment. The programme's founders believe that boxing can be a powerful way to help women regain control and confidence, and to break the cycle of abuse. The first event will take place on 28 November at Ladbroke Hall in London, with tickets available for purchase. The initiative is part of a broader effort to support survivors of domestic abuse and promote positive change in the community. The World Health Organization estimates that nearly one in three women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence by an intimate partner, highlighting the need for initiatives like Fight Forward and Fight Back Promotions. By providing a safe and supportive environment, the programme aims to help women heal and rebuild their lives.
