Meagan Lewis-Michelson, a Harvard alumna, is one step closer to becoming the official voice of Boston's Logan Airport. The Everett, Massachusetts native is among eight finalists competing in the 'Voice of Logan' contest. Lewis-Michelson's journey to this point is a testament to her perseverance and passion for her hometown. Growing up in a family of 11 siblings, she was surrounded by strong Boston accents, including her mother's. However, it wasn't until she attended Harvard that she became aware of her own accent. Lewis-Michelson, an English concentrator, spent her free time in theater, where she received feedback from her classmates about her accent. She took this as an opportunity to work on her accent, much like Eliza Doolittle in the classic musical 'My Fair Lady.' After Harvard, Lewis-Michelson pursued a Master's of Fine Arts degree in musical theater at the Boston Conservatory. She has since dedicated her career to acting, teaching, and doing accents. Lewis-Michelson's passion for her hometown and her accent has led her to this moment, where she could soon be welcoming visitors to Logan Airport. The winner of the contest will be announced on Thursday, and if Lewis-Michelson prevails, her voice will be heard by travelers by Christmas. This achievement is a celebration of her hard work and dedication to her craft, as well as her love for her hometown.
