In a heartwarming gesture, the family of Kenli Riney has established the Kenli Foundation to recognize and reward individuals who demonstrate extraordinary character. Five years ago, Kenli's life was saved by four strangers, including Mike Argote, who ran towards the flames to rescue her from a burning car. Despite being burned in the process, Mike began CPR, and his 14-year-old daughter Ema took over when he tired. The family was deeply moved by the selfless act and decided to honor the strangers by awarding scholarships to students who embody the same qualities. The foundation has already funded 67 heroes, providing $67,000 in scholarships for college, trade school, and graduate school. This year, 451 students applied, a significant increase from the 4 applicants in the first year. The foundation also awards a scholarship to a Tivy High School graduate every year in Kenli's honor and has recently added the Argote Award Scholarship at San Saba High School to recognize the family's bravery. The Kenli Foundation's mission is to find and support individuals who, like the strangers who saved Kenli's life, demonstrate immense character and compassion. By doing so, they aim to create a lasting legacy in honor of their daughter's memory.
